The biggest engineering drawback to the original has been fixed on this new version! Being able to move the gimbal mount brings this into the world of serious steadicam/Arri Trinity competition. Compared to the Float, the DF Trinipod has a thicker column which gives you better fine and delicate control. If you have ever seen a real Steadicam in person, you will notice that they are thick for the same reason.
I am pairing my Trinipod with the Zhiyun Crane 3S and it seems to be a great match.
